Extracting images from a pdf

Hello Iceni

Is it possible to extract all images from a pdf file (to a newly created docx or pdf file) with one click?

This is because when we translate pdf files, we need to see if there are any images with text that needs translating too.

If there are, I would then delete the images with text that do not need translating (like logos etc.) and then feed what is left into an OCR scan to get my text to translate.

Thanks in advance for any help with this

Hello.
You can export all images in a PDF as separate image files to a folder on your computer.

  1. Choose File->Export->Pages As…
  2. Press Format…
  3. Click the General tab
  4. Uncheck Text Output - Image Output should now be checked.
  5. Choose your image format - PNG is a good one for most kinds of image
  6. Ensure Convert each page into an image is not checked.

Press OK and start the process. You should then get all images in the PDF output in your chosen folder.
